regenerative design hub
The Regenerative Design Hub was organized as a for-the-public event within the LA Design Festival in June 2025. Adobeisnotsoftware, the Altadena Seed Library, Angel City Lumber, Mycelium Matters, IROCOH (natural, plant based dye), the Southern California chapter of Fibershed, and the Great Park Coalition’s Regenerative Sustainability Working Group, which advocates for the rebuilding and restoring of Santa Monica’s Great Park, were in attendance.
The Hub was conceived as a small-scale, hands-on, multi-sensory experience that reimagined the systems powering architecture, fashion, technology, and education. We showcased natural materials, living systems, and place-based design practices to explore how we can move from extraction to reciprocity.
Our guests learned about mycelium, soil, adobe, seed banks, reclaimed wood, regional fibers, and climate-conscious innovation—all spotlighting design that seeks to regenerate natural systems.
