creative residencies in the heart of Midcoast Maine
year round
The quiet pace and stunning coastline of Midcoast Maine offer an ideal environment for artists, writers, designers, thinkers, or seekers to pursue a creative project. The region is considered a mecca for artists, with Rockland known as the Art Capital of Maine.
I’ll be making our Rockport home available as an artist’s or writer’s retreat, a jumping off point to enjoy classes at nearby Maine Media Workshops or the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, or a space to gather with friends for a self-directed art camp. You can explore the area’s rich trove of museums and galleries, indie bookstores, antique shops and flea markets, Belted Galloway cows, county fairs, farmer’s markets (April to mid-October), sheep and alpaca farms, and more.
The Rockport-Camden area also offers outdoor adventures, including hiking, kayaking, enjoying the Lobster Festival, Blueberry Days, and The Real Maine Fall Fiber Festival.
Next available date: February 2025.
