Wild Pigment Project
WILD PIGMENT PROJECT promotes ecological balance & regenerative economies through a passion for wild pigments, their places of origin, & their cultural histories. The project connects artists to the land by providing resources, education & inspiration to integrate plant & mineral pigments, hand-gathered & prepared in local landscapes, into studio practice.
Tilke Elkins (‘TIL-kah EL-kins’) has been researching, foraging for and painting with botanical and mineral pigments since 2008, with particular focus on the magic that happens when plant and stone pigments are combined.
She leads group collaborations through classes and workshops, and co-organized the inaugural Pigments Revealed Symposium in June 2021.
Wild Pigment Project Group Exhibition, and the concurrent Elkins’ solo exhibition, Records of Being Held, are on view at form & concept gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico til December 3rd, 2022.
